Voice Shortcuts

Voice Shortcuts let you save text you use often and insert it by saying a trigger phrase. Stirae transcribes first, then scans the text for your saved triggers.

Creating a shortcut

1

Open Settings > Voice Shortcuts

Click New Voice Shortcut.

2

Fill in When You Say

What you'll say to activate it: schedule link, my email, sign off.

3

Fill in Text to Insert

What Stirae will paste. Use \n for line breaks.

Managing shortcuts

Use Search voice shortcuts to find an existing shortcut. Click a shortcut row to edit it, or use the row's more menu to choose Edit… or Remove….

If Stirae cannot save a Voice Shortcuts change, it keeps using your previously saved shortcuts.

How matching works

Shortcuts can work inside longer sentences. If you've set up my email as a shortcut and say "please send them my email, thanks", Stirae replaces only the trigger and keeps the rest: "please send them you@example.com, thanks".

Matching is case-insensitive and allows repeated spaces or surrounding punctuation. Shortcuts do not match inside larger words, so schedule link will not match schedule linked document.

Note
When a Voice Shortcut matches, Stirae skips refinement, translation, final Vocabulary enforcement, and cloud allowance use for that run. The inserted text is not changed by Writing Style shaping.

Shortcuts vs. Vocabulary

Vocabulary corrects how a word is spelled in your dictation. Voice Shortcuts replace a trigger phrase with saved text.
