About these terms
Stirae is a macOS voice-writing service based in Germany. Contact support@stirae.ai.
These terms cover the app, account and subscription service. Our Privacy Policy explains personal-data processing; our Legal Notice provides contact information.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least eighteen years old to create an account or use Stirae. If you act for a business, you must have authority to enter the agreement for it. Keep your credentials secure and contact us if you believe your account has been misused.
Requirements and service
Stirae requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 13 or later, the permissions needed for your selected features, and a valid account entitlement. Audio transcription runs locally. Refinement and translation use cloud processing when enabled and available.
Cloud features require an internet connection and an available cloud allowance. Offline dictation requires a valid verified entitlement on your Mac. An expired trial or subscription does not provide continuing free dictation.
Free trial
An eligible account receives a thirty-day trial when trial access is first activated in Stirae. Creating a sign-in account alone does not start the trial.
The trial includes 100,000 cloud input tokens in total. No payment method is required, and it does not automatically convert to a paid subscription. Continuing productive use after expiry requires a paid subscription.
Plans and usage allowances
Pro includes 250,000 and Max includes 500,000 cloud input tokens per UTC calendar month. Refinement and translation share this allowance. Tokens measure input text and instructions, rather than words or recording minutes.
The monthly reset is independent of your billing date. Plan changes do not reset usage already consumed. When your allowance is exhausted, cloud refinement and translation pause; local dictation remains available while your entitlement is valid.
Individual cloud requests have size limits, and each recording is limited to ten minutes. See Plans & Pricing for the current plans and full annual totals.
Payment and billing
Review the selected plan, payment amount, currency and billing interval before confirming a purchase. The first paid charge is due at purchase; the free app trial is not a deferred subscription payment. Paid access becomes available after payment is confirmed.
Monthly plans are billed in advance for each monthly billing period. Annual plans are billed in advance for a year; any displayed monthly equivalent for annual pricing is not a monthly charge. Subscriptions continue until cancelled under the rules below.
Cancellation
You may cancel a monthly subscription at any time to stop renewal at the end of the current monthly billing period.
An annual subscription has an initial paid term of one year. You can cancel during that year to end it at the end of that term. After the first paid year, it continues for an indefinite period and you may cancel with one month’s notice. We will refund the proportion of prepaid subscription payments covering time after cancellation takes effect.
Use the instructions on our Cancellation page for a request handled by us. You can also open Settings > Plans & Billing to access available subscription-management options. The self-service billing portal offers cancellation at the end of the billing period; email us to use the one-month notice rule after the first annual term or to request a different legally available termination date.
Rights to terminate for a serious reason and other mandatory termination rights remain unaffected. Cancellation and account deletion are separate requests.
Withdrawal and refunds
Consumers with a statutory right of withdrawal can use the notice and model form below. Withdrawal is different from stopping the next renewal.
We do not offer a voluntary money-back guarantee. This does not restrict statutory withdrawal, defect or other mandatory remedies, or the proportionate annual-plan refund described above. Refunds are handled manually.
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires fourteen days after the day on which the contract is concluded.
To exercise this right, inform Stirae of your decision by an unequivocal statement. You can email support@stirae.ai.
You may use the model form below, but you do not have to. To meet the deadline, it is sufficient to send your statement before the withdrawal period expires. Any longer withdrawal period that applies by law remains unaffected.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw, we will reimburse payments received from you under the contract without undue delay and no later than fourteen days after the day we are informed of your decision.
We will use the same means of payment as for the original transaction unless we expressly agree otherwise. You will not incur a reimbursement fee. Refunds are handled manually.
Model withdrawal form
Complete and send this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract. You may copy it into an email.

Licence and your content
Subject to these terms and a valid entitlement, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive right to install and use Stirae for your own personal or business work. The app, service, branding and documentation remain the intellectual property of Stirae’s operators or their licensors. Your subscription grants use rights, not ownership of those materials.
You may not resell or redistribute the app or service, provide access to third parties as a separate service, or copy, modify or reverse engineer our software except where we authorize it or applicable law permits it. These restrictions do not limit mandatory rights to make a backup, observe or test a program, or obtain interoperability information. Third-party components remain subject to their applicable licences.
You retain the rights you have in your content. You authorize processing needed to provide the features you request. We do not claim ownership of the text you provide. You are responsible for having the necessary permissions for material belonging to others.
Refinement and translation can change meaning or produce errors. Review output before sending, publishing or relying on it, particularly names, numbers and statements that affect consequential decisions.
Acceptable use
You must not use Stirae, or interact with its accounts, software or infrastructure, to:
- Gain or attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems or data belonging to us or anyone else; obtain another person’s credentials; or access information you are not entitled to receive.
- Introduce malware, conduct denial-of-service attacks, or deliberately interfere with the security, integrity or availability of the service, its providers or other users.
- Bypass authentication, subscription, device, trial-eligibility or usage controls; manipulate usage accounting; or create replacement accounts to evade a justified restriction.
- Use stolen payment details, impersonate another person or knowingly provide false information to obtain access or avoid a payment that is properly due. This does not restrict good-faith billing disputes or statutory payment rights.
- Infringe intellectual-property, confidentiality, privacy or other legal rights, or use the service for unlawful conduct or material you are not entitled to process.
- Probe, exploit or test our systems without authorization where that activity is not permitted by law. You may report a suspected vulnerability to support@stirae.ai.
Keep your account credentials confidential and take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized use. Tell us promptly if you discover compromised credentials or misuse of your account. You are not automatically liable merely because someone else accessed your account; responsibility for resulting damage is governed by the section below and applicable law.
Protective restrictions
We may temporarily restrict affected account or service access where concrete facts indicate a serious or repeated breach of these terms, a compromised account, or a material threat to our systems, providers, users or other people. We may also restrict access where required by law or a binding order. Restrictions must be proportionate to the reason and limited to the scope and time necessary to address it.
Where circumstances allow, we will explain the reason and give you a reasonable opportunity to respond or remedy the issue before restricting access. We may act immediately where delay would create a serious security or fraud risk, permit ongoing harm, or conflict with a legal obligation. In that case, we will notify you of the action and its reason as soon as legally permitted and without undermining the protective action.
You can ask us to review a restriction by emailing support@stirae.ai. We will consider the information you provide and restore affected access when the reason for restriction no longer applies, unless the contract has been lawfully terminated. A temporary restriction does not by itself end your subscription or settle whether a payment or refund is due.
Termination for serious cause
Either party may terminate the contract for a serious reason where, considering all the circumstances and both parties’ interests, continuing the contract until its ordinary end cannot reasonably be required. Serious or repeated misuse may provide such a reason; an allegation alone does not establish it.
Where the reason is a contractual breach, we will normally first give a warning or a reasonable period to remedy it. Immediate termination is possible only where the legal requirements for dispensing with that step are met. Deliberate attacks, payment fraud or continuing a serious breach after a warning may justify termination, depending on the circumstances. We will communicate termination and its effective date to you.
After termination takes effect, your contractual right to use the terminated service ends. Termination does not remove payment obligations that have already lawfully arisen or either party’s legally available claims for damages. It does not automatically make all remaining subscription fees due or forfeit prepaid amounts. Applicable reimbursement rights and the cancellation and refund provisions above remain unaffected.
Responsibility for damage
If your intentional or negligent breach of these terms causes loss, we may claim compensation to the extent the requirements of applicable law are met. This can include actual, necessary and reasonable costs of responding to an incident, restoring affected systems or data, and additional infrastructure charges caused by the breach. Ordinary operating costs are not automatically chargeable to you.
If the breach also gives rise to a third-party claim against us, recoverable loss may include amounts we are legally required to pay and necessary, reasonable defence costs, but only insofar as they are attributable to your breach and legally recoverable from you. We will inform you of a relevant claim when legally permitted and give you an opportunity to respond. Our admission or settlement does not by itself establish your liability.
Statutory rules on causation, responsibility, proof, our own contribution to a loss and reasonable steps to prevent or reduce it continue to apply. These terms impose no automatic fine or fixed damages charge for an account restriction or breach. We may also seek court orders to stop unlawful conduct and pursue other remedies available under applicable law.
Our liability
We remain liable without the limitations below for intentional or grossly negligent conduct; for injury to life, body or health caused by negligence; for fraudulent concealment of a defect; and under any guarantee we expressly give. This includes relevant conduct of our legal representatives and people we use to perform our contractual duties. Mandatory liability, including under product-liability and data-protection law, remains unaffected.
For ordinary negligence causing other loss, we are liable for breach of an essential contractual duty: a duty necessary to perform the contract and on whose performance you can normally rely. In that case, liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical of this kind of contract. Liability for ordinary negligence involving other contractual duties is excluded, subject to the exceptions above and any mandatory law that prevents that exclusion.
These limits concern claims for damages. They do not remove your statutory rights to receive the contracted service and required updates, have defects remedied, reduce the price, withdraw from or terminate the contract, or obtain a refund where the law provides one.
Updates and applicable law
We may perform maintenance and provide updates. Your statutory rights concerning conformity, defects and required updates remain unaffected. These terms do not grant an unrestricted right to change prices, remove paid functionality or impose new terms during an existing contract.
German law applies subject to mandatory consumer protections applicable to you, including those of your country of habitual residence. No exclusive court is imposed on consumers where that is not legally permitted.
